Career Journey

Why “Sweat the Stress”?

July 18th, 2018

Because that is what I do! For the past couple of years, I’ve been trying to take some time to think about what direction I want to go in career wise (I think we can all relate to that). I took a pretty scary step in 2017 when I quit my 9-5 job (see my blog post Taking a Leap of Faith – I quit my 9-5!) and since then I’ve become a mom and have been exploring the career path of one of the things I love most, FITNESS! When I look into my son’s eyes, I not only want to be able to provide for him but I want him to know that with hard work, you can achieve your dreams and do what you love. So it’s about time I really dove into what I love most about fitness (that I can sweat out my stress and feel GOOD about it) and share it with those who need it. My love of fitness came from one of my greatest losses in life, which I share in my story on my home page. This realization has both held me back and inspired me all at the same time, which sends me on quite the emotional roller coaster at times. Do I really want to share this with others? Do I want to make a career out of something that came from such a dark time in my life? Some days the answers to those questions are unclear but one thing I do know is that I didn’t find happiness in a 9-5 job sitting back and letting life pass me by, I have so much more to give and a fire in me that keeps pushing me down this entrepreneurial path.
