Circuit Workouts & Why I LOVE Them!
October 2018
As a personal trainer, I LOVE doing circuit workouts with my clients. A circuit is when you perform a series of exercises all in a row (either timed or a rep count), take a short rest, and then repeat anywhere from 2-4x depending on your fitness level. I recommend incorporating full body exercises to work everything but you can target specific muscle groups if desired. Check out my Total Body Circuit for a great sweat (subscribe to my blog posts below for the password)!
Here’s why I love them:
- They save time. If you need a quick sweat, you can speed through a short circuit in 15-20 minutes and get a great workout!
- You increase your EPOC (excess post-exercise oxygen consumption). A fancy term that basically means your body will continue to burn calories long after your workout is over. Who doesn’t love that?!
- You can use equipment BUT you don’t need it. Bodyweight circuits are just as effective and you can do it anywhere! Check out my Full Body Cardio circuit (subscribe to my blog posts below for the password).
- You won’t get bored. You can incorporate so many different exercises to add variety and keep your body guessing.
As always my friends, when in doubt, sweat it out! To help, download my FREE Pre-Workout Motivation printout (my top sayings to get me motivated) here to help you get moving! You will NEVER regret an awesome workout.
