When I became a mom, I started being more careful about the chemicals I was bringing into our home. I started researching and learning about what is actually in the everyday products we use and I was shocked to find out how harmful some of them are. When I looked up products on my “Think Dirty” app (so addicting if you haven’t used it yet) and found most of them stated it’s a possible carcinogen, I immediately started getting rid of them. Why would I expose my family to that?! I thought there has got to be a better way! If you do a quick google search you will find so many resources on the harmful effects of chemicals & toxins in our products, such as this one from lifehack. 

My point for this post is not to go over every harmful effect (it can get overwhelming!) but to share an exciting new side gig I started that has helped me reduce my family’s chemical exposure and put me on a mission to help others as well. #cantstopwontstop

A New Adventure

One of my biggest struggles was making the switch to natural cleaning products. I spent a lot of time researching and a lot of money trying out different products but never found anything I loved. My one big question and hesitation with natural cleaning products was…did it actually pick up the bacteria & germs? Specifically, does it clean up all the bacteria from raw meat in the kitchen? 

Enter Norwex! I was part of a small business sharing event, where I was sharing my fitness business and a few others came to share their businesses as well. It must have been fate because I walked out more excited about the Norwex business than my own! I saw how a microfiber cloth could remove 99% of bacteria from a surface WITH JUST WATER with proper use and care. I was blown away. BUT what really hooked me was this raw chicken demo showing proof that the cloth picked up the bacteria from the raw chicken after it was smeared all over the surface. I was amazed and I know you will be too after you watch this video. It was a game changer for me!

Fast forward to today and I am absolutely LOVING all of the products I use from Norwex, I feel healthier living with less chemicals and my house is actually looking cleaner (besides the toddler toys all over the place). So, I took this on as a side gig to spread the word about a new, chemical-free way of cleaning with my clients, friends, family, and anyone else trying to live a healthier life. My fitness business is my priority but being healthy and fit isn’t just about working out, it’s about overall health including what we ingest, inhale, and take in on a daily basis.

A Few of my Favorite Products 

• Envirocloth – This is the cloth used in the raw chicken demo so if you watched the video above, there isn’t much else to say about it. It’s your all purpose household cleaner that picks up 99% of bacteria from a surface with just water. 

• Window Cloth – This is the sidekick to the Envirocloth. It shines and leaves a streak-free surface on windows and glass. Use a wet envirocloth first to remove bacteria (anyone else have dog drool all over their windows?) and then finish off with a dry window cloth for a great streak-free shine. 

• Counter Cloths – These have helped me reduce my paper towel usage and I love them! They are the size of a paper towel to clean up quick spills & messes as well as wipe my counters down after meals. They remove 99% of bacteria from the surface & are made from 50% recycled materials.

• Dusting Mitt – This little thing can pick up so much! It fits perfectly on your hand to wipe any dusty & dirty surface imaginable. I love to use it for my TV, coffee table, blinds, shelves, etc. 

• Laundry Detergent – We switched to a Free & Clear detergent a while ago but I didn’t feel it helped much with stains and odor. I absolutely LOVE this detergent, it helps get rid of stains AND it helped get rid of the permanent stink in my husband’s clothes (huge bonus!). 

• Superior Mop Starter System- I don’t know about you but dragging around a bucket to clean the floors isn’t my cup of tea. This is an easy two step mop system. First, you attach a dry mop pad to the handle to pick up dirt & debris. Then you attach a wet mop pad that cleans 99% of the bacteria off your floors with just water. If your toddler is like mine & loves to eat off the floor, this mop will make you feel better. 🙂 

• Bodycloth – As I mentioned above,  I use this cloth every night to clean and remove makeup from my face. I rinse it with warm water, wipe my face, re-rinse, and hang it to dry. It only takes a couple minutes and the super soft texture makes my face feel so good.
